Lori Chamberland is a self-taught artist exploring the medium of acrylics and mixed media. For me, painting is a way to uncover layers of yourself and journey with emotions like expectation, freedom, control, frustration and exuberance. Time loses context and in that space, some unfamiliar form of knowledge presents itself on canvas. I enjoy the challenge of transferring the essence of the natural world into artistic form.		Phone: 613-255-7934 Email: lori.chamberland@primus.ca The Deadheads and Spirit Buffalo series of paintings seemed to appear on my canvases with a story to tell: A story of the importance of respecting ancient knowledge and wisdom. Each “Dead Head” or “Spirit Buffalo” seemed to take on their own shape and personality from a basic background I had created for them. I then went to work with my brushes to give them a bit more substance. Hopefully I got their general form and message mostly right! I am excited to share my premiere exhibition with you.
